🌍 Origin – Huehuetenango, GuatemalaHuehuetenango is one of Guatemala’s most celebrated coffee-growing regions and one of the highest and driest areas under cultivation.
Why Huehuetenango is Special
One of Guatemala’s three non-volcanic regions
Among the highest-elevation coffee regions in the country
Known for bright acidity and refined fruit character
Altitude: Up to 2,000 meters (6,500+ ft)
Climate: Dry, frost-free microclimate
Geography: Cool air from the Cuchumatanes Mountains mixes with warm air from the Plains of Tehuantepec (Mexico)
This rare climate allows coffee to mature slowly, developing dense beans and layered flavor complexity.
🔧 Processing – WashedDue to the region’s remoteness, most producers process their own coffee using local rivers and streams.
Hand-harvested cherries
Fully washed processing
Clean fermentation and drying
Careful milling and preparation
Washed processing enhances clarity, sweetness, and vibrant acidity in the final cup.
🏷️ Grade Explained – SHG EPSHG / SHB (Strictly High Grown / Hard Bean): Grown above 1,350 meters
EP (European Preparation): Hand-sorted to remove defects and foreign material
This results in uniform, high-quality green coffee beans, ideal for precision roasting.
⚠️ Important InfoGreen (un-roasted) coffee beans – roasting required
Flavor notes vary by roast level and brewing method
Ideal for home roasters & specialty micro-roasters
☕ A classic Guatemalan coffee—sweet, syrupy, and beautifully complex. Roast it your way.
Green (unroasted) coffee beans are a raw agricultural product and are NOT intended for consumption in their unroasted state.
Green coffee must undergo proper roasting and additional processing prior to consumption.
By purchasing green coffee, the buyer acknowledges and understands the following:
Green coffee requires further processing, including but not limited to:
Screening
Sorting
Roasting
Removal of defects and foreign material
Due to the nature of raw, unroasted coffee, small amounts of naturally occurring debris may be present, including but not limited to:
Burlap fibers or jute strands
Twine or string fragments
Cracked or broken beans
Coffee husk or shell fragments
Small stones or other field-related debris
These materials are common and expected in unroasted coffee and must be removed during normal pre-roast handling and roasting procedures.
Green coffee must be roasted properly before it can be consumed. Consumption of unroasted coffee is not recommended.
The final roast profile, flavor, quality, and outcome of the roasted coffee are entirely dependent on the buyer’s roasting process, equipment, skill level, and handling practices.
We do not guarantee or take responsibility for the final roasted product, including taste, appearance, or performance.
All roasting, post-roast processing, and food-safety compliance are the sole responsibility of the buyer.
By completing the purchase, the buyer agrees that they understand and accept these conditions.
